Fall AF Cocktails

Fall Cocktails - The Kissters

Hey, it's Fall!

I do love a good pumpkin spice latte, but am v fond of cocktails! It is often a wise decision to reserve liquid calories if you are going to have a drink or two after work.

So in honor of the changing of the seasons and the shortening of the days -  here are three very simple, and very delicious cocktails for you to make - or ask your sister to make for you (ahem, Claudia) All three feature our yummy and easy Fall AF Simple Syrup - a delicious spiced sweet addition to try in any cocktail, really!

Rum Cinnamon Cocktail - The Kissters

'Don't Walk, Rum'

1 part Don Q Oak Barrel Spiced Rum

3 parts Fresh Lemonade

1 teaspoon Cinnamon-infused simple syrup (below)

Optional garnish: Sprig Thyme, Lime Wedge, or Lemon Peel

Combine all ingredients in a glass over crushed ice, or in a pitcher (this is a great make-ahead cocktail for parties.) If you are using an un-spiced rum or just feeling particularly autumnal, stir in teaspoon of Fall AF Simple syrup.

'Something Bubbly'

2 parts Orange Juice

1 part Gin

1 part sparkling soda

1 part Champagne or Prosecco

1 dash Fall AF Simple Syrup

Orange slice for garnish

Combine all ingredients in a champagne flute - or a tumbler if you're poor like us. Enjoy with brunch - the orange juice is healthy, right?

Apple of my Eye Cocktail - The Kissters

'Apple of my Eye'

1 part Bourbon

1 part Unfiltered Apple Juice

1 teaspoon Fall AF cinnamon simple syrup (see below)

Orange peel, for garnish

Pour all ingredients into a rocks glass over ice. Take orange peel, circle the rim, and toss in. I oft enjoy this gem in a paper cup whilst walking the dog after work.

Fall Simple Syrup - The Kissters

Fall AF Simple Syrup Directions:

Combine 1 part Brown Sugar and 1 part filtered water together in a saucepan and toss in a few generous shakes of ground Cinnamon or Pumpkin Pie Spice. Heat mixture until fully combined and sugar is dissolved. Once cooled, pour the syrup through a coffee filter to catch the spices. Enjoy!
