So many New Year Resolutions I don’t even know where to start!
This year I don’t really feel too much pressure about making big grand resolutions but I DO feel- that for the first time in a long time- I am really going to be able to make some small changes that will impact my life in a big way!
While Adriane is “drying out” and doing something for the greater good (go sis!) I am opting to focus on small little changes and life “upgrades” that will hopefully stick and kick my ass into gear!
Resolutions are as follows:
Meditate 5 minutes each day. Yup. Just 5 minutes each day. When I say “meditate” I don’t mean light a bunch of candles and throw my body into “om pose.” (However- lighting ONE candle can and will add to my meditation experience). This year, I want to take 5 minutes each morning or night and focus on my breathing and all of the things I am thankful and grateful for. I started this morning and honestly it was a fantastic way to start the day! I felt fresh and motivated.
Gym It 4 times a week. (5 times a week would be ideal) As of now I definitely get in at least 3 days a week at the gym. I always* go every Saturday and Sunday. This goal is just to ensure I get my butt to the gym 2 (or 3!) days during the work week.
* Ok I might have missed a couple of weekends last year but don’t hold it against me!
Cook once a week. I know what you’re thinking. Just ONCE a week? “C’mon, LAZY!” I swear though, as a non-chef NEW YORKER it really is hard to cook often, so I am starting this goal off at a very steady pace. I plan on cooking once over the weekend (and then will hopefully have leftovers for lunch the following week).
Pack my lunch once a week. This sort of goes hand-in-hand with cooking once a week and I do think that- more often than not- the one meal I cook will also be the meal I pack. I know once a week is (again) a low pressure goal but I want to make sure I follow through! So far so good- this week I did manage to pack my lunch and it was actually QUITE enjoyable:
(I was lucky this week as my boyfriend, Joe, actually whipped up this meal. Rice, spinach, green peppers, roasted tomatoes, and slow cooked chicken). Mmmm!
Journal 3 times a week. Gonna go old school and put a pen to paper. I used to to write almost every single day and unfortunately somewhere that good habit was beat out by work, play, happy hour, and Netflix. This year even if I write just a few sentences, I WILL write 3 times a week.
And that is IT! New Years Resolutions, bring it on!
