4 Key Tips to No Hassle Winter Beauty

Winter is upon us in every way. Holiday decorations are up in every store and the colder winds greet you every time you step outside. Lucky for you we have 4 tried and true tips to help you look your best in the colder weather.. and it’s easier than you think!

Tip #1.)  Switch Your Moisturizer

– By simply switching the lightweight moisturizer you use during the summer months to something slightly more creamy, you are restorting precious moisture to the delicate skin on your face. The colder and drier air will dry out skin more, leading to unsightly flakes or for oily skinned people like me… dry skin can lead to acne! The more dried-out your skin gets, the more your face will actually produce more oil and over-compensate.

Tip #2.)  Change Your Concealer, Foundation, and Blush Shades ever-so-slightly

– You are naturally paler this time of year, so make sure your make-up matches. Don’t worry about eye makeup; just focus on your face. Concealer should be slightly lighter than the rest of your face, and foundation should basically the tone of your face. Blush can be a warmer shade – look for colors found in nature. We love Victoria’s Secret VS Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder. It provides a little natural glow and doubles up as a blush – saving you money and time!

Tip #3.)  Make Sure You Take Care of Your Hair!

– Just like your skin, your hair can dry out more in the colder and drier air. Take this opportunity to wash your hair less often if you can, saving its natural oils to make your hair healthier and shinier. Also don’t be afraid to add a little oil to the ends to prevent split ends and flyaways.

Tip #4.)  Don’t Forget SPF!

– Just because it’s too cold to sunbathe, don’t forget that sun protection is still very important during winter. Look for a moisturizer with SPF, as well as lip protection. A great way to protect your face and delicate skin around your eyes is to continue to rock your big sunglasses all year round!

Happy Winter!
