How a 10 dollar drugstore mascara CHANGED MY LIFE!

Occasionally I’ll be roaming the aisle of our neighborhood beauty store and tell myself – ‘You know you’re an adult now! You work very hard and you’re finally not having to eat peanut butter and jelly every day or count Soy Crisps as a full meal due to their high protein content!’ ‘Go ahead, splurge on one of those really high-end beauty products and TREAT YOURSELF!’

I did this last week and spent 30 dollars on a very small tube of mascara. It is VERY high-end and I won’t say the name as I don’t want to diss the brand.. let’s just say I was not impressed. I was disappointed but of course resolved to use up the full bottle before I went back to my favorite drugstore brands of L’Oreal or Almay.

Then, I left for my 10 year high school reunion that Thursday and completely forgot to pack the three-times-as-expensive mascara in my make-up bag. Perhaps it was fate.

It being my 10 year reunion and all, I simply couldn’t show up half naked (face), so my mom and I high-tailed it to the drugstore as soon as I got into town.

On a whim I picked up Revlon’s new “Grow Luscious’ Mascara. Mostly because on the packaging it said ‘96% of women who used it saw longer lusher lashes.’

As soon as I applied it I saw what all of the fuss is about! I know I’ll never have to spend $30 on mascara again because Revlon blows the competition out of the water.

Here are some of my favorite attributes of the mascara:

– The oversized brush is incredibly easy to use and extends lashes

– The formula is completely non-clumping

– The effect on my lashes was feathery, soft, and long – it almost looked as if I was wearing false lashes!

– It comes off so easily at the end of the night with small amount of soap and water
