Pump up the Volume

Shoes are such an important part of fall fashion. It’s something that pulls your look together, and can add spice to any outfit!

According to Piperlime and the Neiman Marcus Fall 2011 Style report, PUMPS are in this fall and we couldn’t be happier! We don’t know about you, but we already have multiple pairs of pumps in our closets.

What’s more frugal and resourceful than getting the most out of something you already own?

The great places to find your pumps this season may just be right under your nose – no need to spend a fortune, but make sure they are comfortable! These versatile and ladylike shoes easily transition from day to night and will last you more than 1 season with good care.

A tip we have is to actually invest in the suede and leather protector that they sell at the shoe stores. Claudia was skeptical at Aldo 2 seasons ago when the sales clerk said she should buy the one at the counter as she was purchasing leather boots.  But we can’t tell you how long it’s made her boots last! It’s pretty great that you can protect your footwear season after season with a little can of suede and leather protector. Also consider getting a favorite pair of shoes re-soled if you need. It’s an investment you’ll be happy you made when your shoes last more than one season.

Another tip for rocking great pumps all year long is to invest in 2 pairs and to make sure they are a bit different! Have a classic pair in leather, patent leather, or suede for work and day time. Neutral colors like black, navy, nude, and brown are great. For night time or those days when your other wise monotone outfit needs a kick – go for a crazy color! Fallish tones are mustard, maroon(so in this season), and burnt orange.
