As Kissters, as New Yorkers, and as two twenty-somethings who rely more on a strong cup of coffee than we do a good night’s sleep – we are HUGE Starbucks fans. In fact, we are simply coffee fans in general.
So you can imagine my dismay when I read this morning on MSNBC: Starbucks is raising their prices.
The good news is that they are mainly raising prices on their larger-sized drinks and the labor-intensive drinks. So, if you are already a budget friendly drinker like us, this doesn’t have to get you all in a caffeine-lacking tizzy. But! Let’s go over some awesome Starbucks alternatives to the fancy pants drinks we all know and love and (sometimes) splurge on!
Instead of a Mocha Frappucino
Try a Starbucks iced coffee with 2 pumps of Mocha syrup. Garnish with whipped cream if you’re feelin’ flirty, but a FREE way to add a little something special is to sprinkle some love with the Chocolate and Vanilla shakers they have at the bar.
*Enjoy this while sitting at your desk around 3pm, looking at your summer in Facebook albums to fill up your memory bank for February.
Instead of a Pumpkin Spice Latte
Try: A tall Starbucks hot coffee with two pumps of the Pumpkin syrup. We like soymilk with this because it adds a nice ‘nutty’ flavor – yum! Then, garnish with a dash or cinnamon and nutmeg from the bar.
*Enjoy this on the first cool morning of fall, when you are purposefully walking on the leaves that have already fallen and are ready to be crunched!
Instead of a Salted Caramel Mocha
Try: A Tall Starbucks hot coffee with one pump of Caramel, one pump of Mocha. (Bonus: they offer Sugar-Free Caramel if you want to err on the side of healthy!)
